We offer brass and woodwinds lessons to beginner and advanced students. Beginners start with the fundamentals of the instrument, such as proper embouchure development for clear tone production, fingering placement or slide position and instrument assembly and maintenance. More advanced and experienced students continue to progress in their lessons with gradually challenging exercises while learning more significant repertoire. Instrumental lessons include theory, ear training, sight-reading, and technique.
Establish correct embouchure from the beginning of study for good tone production and clarity.
Develop note reading, musical literacy and expand the student’s range of play on the instrument.
Expand repertoire and skill level using appropriate musical studies and technical work.

Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital.
Our optional recitals are low-stress and provide a great opportunity to share music with others, and to experience musical progress. In January and June many of our students choose to perform in our biannual recitals. We hold these at the Melville Presbyterian Church within minutes of Marsman.
For our individual lessons, instead of waiting in a music retail store showroom, our clients enjoy a waiting area with comfortable chairs, kids toys, magazines and free Wi-Fi. We also provide observation windows on every door so that you can watch your child’s lesson while you wait. Or if you prefer you can sit in on their lesson anytime you like.
